Wenger Learns From Mistake, Will Not Sell Players Again

Arsene Wenger Arsene Wenger will keep his chequebook open when he offers fresh contracts to players in his current squad.
With the transfer window now closed, the club’s negotiators will now turn their attentions to securing the futures of the existing squad.
MTN Sports reveals that defenders Per Mertesacker – who is a close friend of Ozil – and Bacary Sagna are among those who are in line for improved deals.
Likewise, Tomas Rosicky, whose current deal expires at the end of the season, is also set for an extension offer.
Mertesacker, who has become a vital part of the club’s defence, has just under two years left to run on his existing deal and Wenger is keen for the Germany international to extend his stay.
Tying Sagna down to a new deal, however, could prove more complicated. The France international, whose deal expires next year has been involved in a long-running contract wrangle with the club.
He looked certain to leave north London this year but agreed to stay after talks with Wenger.
